Once a week, have your child select the main dish for dinner. Sit down with him and research easy, kid-friendly recipes that you can prepare together. Then, take a trip to the store with your child, so he can help you purchase the ingredients.
At home, let him prepare as much of the main dish as possible. He'll enjoy being able to say that he "made dinner," and your supervision will ensure against a kitchen disaster!
