Body Image Booster

Purpose:
To teach your child to appreciate his or her amazing body and develop a deeper understanding of physical capabilities.

Activity Instructions:
Help your teen or tween make a list of all the incredible things his body does on a daily basis.

Have her answer these questions:

  • Have you been taking your body for granted?
  • Do you mistreat your body or criticize your appearance?
  • What messages are you sending yourself about your looks?

Ask her to write down, in a journal, three things she can do or tell herself that will create a better relationship with her body and appreciate what it can achieve.

Outcome:
Your teen will develop respect and appreciation for his body, and begin to limit damaging negative self-talk.
