Easter Cards

Purpose:
To strengthen the importance of family, relationships, and keeping in touch with loved ones. Electronics and computers have taken over our lives. We facebook, email and e-card just about everything these days. A personalized homemade card will let family and friends know you're thinking of them in a special way.

Materials:

  • Paper of desired size (blank postcards, standard letter size folded in half or into quarters)
  • Colored pencils, markers, paint, stencils, or stamps
  • Envelopes and stamps

Easter Activity Instructions:
Sit down with your children and make a list of relatives and loved ones to whom they would like to send Easter greetings. Each child may want to create a card for every member of the household. If your extended family is large, you may assign relatives to each child so that everyone receives a card.

Have your children create colorful cards with Easter themes and greetings. You can hand-deliver them to family members and close relatives, and mail the cards to distant relatives. Older children can help address the envelopes.

Outcome:
Sending holiday cards helps your children learn the importance of spreading goodwill and gratitude. In addition, this activity reminds them to stay connected with family and encourages the development of stronger relationships.
