Piano practice for some children can be looked upon as a job. Learning to play any instrument should be fun and encouraged as a positive behavior. As long as the child wants to learn to play the piano, it will be fun and exciting. The idea of creating a piano practice chart is a great way for the child to keep track of their forward progress during the learning process. The piano practice chart can be utilized as a behavioral tool that can teach all kinds of positive behaviors. The chart can also be used as a record-keeping system for a rewarding process. When used with other behavioral modification techniques this type of chart will encourage the desired behavior and the child will learn more than how to play the piano. The piano chart will keep the student on time to scheduled practice time. The child will learn that being on time and consistent is rewarding. These positive associations will need to be reinforced for the concept to take hold and be practiced. The process of learning how to play the piano will teach the child's mind how to process information and keep and use that information. The skill of translating that information to their fingertips is called learning to play the piano.
