Progress Charts for Preschoolers

Progress Charts for Preschoolers

Print this chart

When children are able to see progress during the week after completing homework or performing chores at home or at school, it usually results in children doing more work because of being proud of their achievements. Progress charts for preschoolers can be placed in areas at home or at school so that children can clearly see the horseshoes and the horse on the chart. Each horseshoe can be associated with a task that is age-appropriate for the child, such as picking up toys or sitting quietly when asked. The border of the progress chart blends well with the design of the pasture and the horse with words written at the top of the chart in the same yellow as the border. If horseshoes aren't used for a specific task, there is a space for recording one task that can be completed with each horseshoe colored in after the child performs the activity. At the end of the week, all of the horseshoes can be counted to see how many times the task was performed and to see if the child can help the horse jump over the fence. Rewards can be given based on the number of horseshoes that are colored at the end of the week.
