Sometimes kids have a hard time realizing that there is a big world outside the front door, but one way to teach the child about the community is to do volunteer work and service the community in which you live. Learning that it is important to help others is a valuable lesson for children to learn and one of the best ways to do that is to participate in a community service project. Besides having the child feel good for spending their time helping others, you may want to consider giving them a Community Service Award certificate.
